So what’s new in the world of a beauty geek....?

Well its 9^th of April I can’t believe I haven’t blogged since just after the awards evening we have just been so busy in the academy!!

My life is so busy at the moment running an academy full time..... Organising the new courses starting. And I have been given the most exciting opportunity to open a new college working with our local school offering hair and beauty as a GCSE and eventually an A level option as now school children have to stay at school till the 18!!

 I do believe this is a great opportunity for the local area and hope we can work with the surrounding schools offering the options for them...... One minute I feel glam and the next min I’m on a building site deciding what walls I want to keep up in the new school!! I feel like I need cutting in half all the time there isn’t enough of me to go round..... But I can guarantee one thing I’ve always got tan on...a curly blow and my red lippy!!!

Soooooo I’ve just had a sneaky little break in Yorkshire back to my roots....just love been back home surrounded with the beautiful country side.... visited my fabulous friends drank far too much wine ate far too much cheese!!..... In which I may add I didn’t like wine till this weekend and I have found a taste for it haha!!! (Still not red wine though tastes like vinegar.... haha) Had a great couple of hours visiting the farm with my main man.... my dad and our racehorse which I would also like to add the jokey who won the Grand National rides my horse!!! How exciting is that!!

All my girly friends met up in my friend’s beautiful new cottage conversion that is the most beautiful house I have seen I’m so proud of her..... They have restored it back to original features with a modern twist it’s just such a DIVA pad!!!!.....

So I am well rested and need a push this week to get in the swing of work again..... I would like to thank my friends and family for a great weekend I needed it!!!

So what have got lined up for the next couple of weeks.....? Well it’s getting to that time of year in which all I do is mark folders...... I need to start planning for the new school year starting in September as I bet you guys forget my year is ran September to September. I am having the hair dressing room knocked through making it bigger as we have just started offering NVQ Level 2 hair dressing.... I’m so excited about the hair side as I run all the beauty it’s very refreshing to be offering and expanding into new courses!

So a busy few week’s ahead 2 schools.... expand the hair room.....and just my usual lessons on top of it all..... And a exciting new business up my sleeve.....Wow I must be nuts but I LOVE IT!!!! I am your true beauty geek.....

Beauty Geek - Liverpool Lifestyle awards

Beauty Geek School

Well what an exciting evening we had at the Liverpool lifestyle awards!! And great news my student won!! “Best makeup artist 2013” We are overjoyed and excited about her news!!!

So celebrations started at 4pm with some cheeky little vodka’s while we were doing are makeup and hair! And dancing away to some music.....pure girly fun! I don’t think you’re ever two old to be singing and dancing around with your friends we were all like a big bunch of teenager’s lol!!  My favourite part of a night out is getting ready with my girls catching up a bit of gossip and just having a good laugh.... I have a lot going on in my life at the moment and seeing my friends always cheers me up it’s so hard been a business woman, mother, lover, and everything else I have to be!!!! But I still find time to be a beauty geek!!!

We all looked fabulous in are long evening gowns ready for the party everyone one looked so different in all the different coloured dresses, we all had different hair styles too!! So here is a little pic of before the night: 

So you can imagine 7 girls getting ready.... my house was a tip!! I’m the one in the purple dress curly dark hair.....your beauty geek!!

The overall night was amazing good entertainment and excellent company! We all had the best time I love been with my girls! Good food.....good company!

Beauty Geek School - exciting news!!

Day in the life of a beauty geek!

Exciting news:

 Second blog!! So I can feel myself becoming addicted to this blogging!! Lol!!

Myself and my fellow students and colleagues will be attending the life style awards tomorrow we have been preparing all week we are all spray tanned up and curly blow dry’s happening as I blog now!!

It’s so hard been a beauty geek been perfect all the time!! I couldn’t just go out last min.com as I have to make sure I am waxed....... tanned....eyebrows done....eyelashes.....hair coloured styled perfection is hard but I love it haha!! Dress shoes and bag well say no more as a normal person would have had to get a mortgage out on what I’ve spent!!!

So why are we attending the life style awards??

One of my students Nicola Howard....... Nic, 31. Mother of 3, worked 10 Years on the Switchboard of The Liverpool Echo, and was made redundant in August 2011... Always wanting to do something she loved, Make-Up and Art... Took her redundancy, believed in her and didn't look back.

She started with Diva Beauty academy in November 2011 completing her Level 2 Cosmetic Make-up and within one year has 7 New Qualifications, is successfully Self employed and has took the Make-Up World By Storm.. Helping to raise £3000 organising the Fantasy Fashion Show with Diva Beauty academy in Sept 2011 which was featured ironically in the Liverpool Echo and most recently within the year Achieving a VTCT Award in excellence for her Make-Up this month and Nominated for BEST MAKE-UP Artist 2013 at the Liverpool Lifestyle awards tomorrow!!!.. She is 'Tiger Make-Up'...
